-Jack S. "Scott and Ida are full of knowledge and share it with focus and clarity.
It has helped me focus and elevate my teaching and I would encourage any teacher of the 26&2 lineage to attend." -Dana D. |
As a teacher, the depth of your knowledge and your skill in teaching are key to unlocking your students' potential and guiding them down the right path.
Improve your connection and communication with your students. Make your teaching more sustainable. At Teaching Week you will learn teaching techniques including how to see what your students are doing, how to read a student's posture, which instructions to give and why, how to give corrections & adjustments, how use your breath and how to use your voice. You will also learn anatomy, body mechanics, physiology and history that illuminate the therapeutic purpose of individual postures and the overall arc of a yoga class. |
At Teaching Week you will practice how to use your voice effectively (even if you have a quiet voice), how to give instructions that communicate effectively with your students, when and how to demonstrate, how to make corrections verbally, and how to assist your students by adjusting their bodies.
We will review skeletal alignment, muscular engagement, weight distribution and use of the breath in many common postures. We will review the purpose of each posture and how to maintain its benefits even while up-leveling or down-leveling to suit your students' needs. Avoid common pitfalls by learning the most likely injuries in each position and how to identify and prevent them. |
