WORKSHOP SERIES is a combination of lecture and practice. The focus will be on learning and enabling the student to understand more complex concepts. In September, you will learn how to practice Pranayama and integrate it into your everyday practice and life.
​
CLASS SERIES is a led class with a specific focus. Practice will be centered around an area for progress, with minimal lecture and maximal doing​.

SESSION 1 :: Saturday, Oct 10
The ancient history of yoga, including the Vedas and Upanishads. The first explanations of yoga.

SESSION 2 :: Saturday, Oct 17
Yoga in the classical period, with texts like the Yogasutra. Plus the impact of tantric Buddhism, Shaivism and Vaishnavism.

SESSION 3 :: Saturday, Oct 24
​The development of Hathayoga.
​
SESSION 4 :: Saturday, Oct 31
Modern yoga in the 20th century. How yoga evolves out of its Hathayoga beliefs and into the modern day through nationalism, physical culture, globalism and health.

Practice simple, useful exercises that strengthen and mobilize the major joints and muscles of the body.

This series is recommended for all including those who are older, injured or new to yoga.

SESSION 1 :: Saturday, Oct 10
An introductory full body practice. 

SESSION 2 :: Saturday, Oct 17
Back Pain: This class will focus on easing back pain through gentle, therapeutic movements. 
​
SESSION 3 :: Saturday, Oct 24

Stress: This week we focus on stress release. We'll go through simple breathing exercises and movements. You will feel calm and grounded.  
​
SESSION 4 :: Saturday, Oct 31

Feet, shoulders and neck: Learn and practice exercises that help to ease tension in the feet, shoulders and neck.
