10 Years Ago we started a little thing called Practice Week....
We set out to build something that we, as yogis ourselves, wanted to see in the world: space and time dedicated to practice. We felt this should not be a place to learn to teach or to perform. Rather this was to be a place of developing a commitment to yogic practice; an immersive space to find inspiration and to commit to the discipline necessary for growth. A few people came back in 2016. We were surprised anyone showed up! (And also ok if no one did.) Several of those that did come camped on our living room floor. Then a decade went by.... |
|
Now, Ghosh Yoga has rooted itself all over the world.
Yogis gather yearly at Practice Week, in Ghosh Yoga Teacher Trainings, in studios and community spaces, and in their own homes simply to practice. Throughout the last 10 years, we have come to find we have much in common. Rooted in our individual commitments to humility, discipline and knowledge, we find that connection is an important part of a sustained life of practice. So, to celebrate a decade of Practice Week and a commitment to both practice and community: We offer the inaugural Ghosh Yoga Festival! We will gather with each other to celebrate and deepen both our individual yoga practices and the community we've all built. We hope to see you in Tampa, - Ida & Scott |

Leah Buckley
In 2019, Leah Buckley began taking asana classes as a way to prevent and recover from Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) injuries. Finding yoga helpful to counterbalance both BJJ and sitting at a desk all day, she continued developing her practice through the Ghosh Yoga 200 hour and 300 hour training programs. In 2023, she began teaching foundations yoga classes at High Noon BJJ in Alexandria, VA to help other BJJ practitioners protect and heal their bodies. While she has grown to see yoga as more than a physical practice, she believes everyone should be able to take what they need from the practice, whether that involves working with the body, nervous system, or mind. |

Jessica DiBlasio (Europe)
Jessica was first introduced to yoga over 20 years ago through the study of B.K.S. Iyengar’s book Light On Yoga. She was particularly interested in the individual, prescriptive approach to practice. While participating in the work-study program at Pure Yoga Texas she learned of the Ghosh tradition and incorporated study of Bishnu Ghosh's Yoga Cure as well as the practice manuals published by Ghosh Yoga teachers Ida Jo and Scott Lamps. From 2020-2021 Jessica attended the online Ghosh workshops covering various topics led by Ida and Scott. Through these experiences she discovered the profound and beneficial aspects of nervous system regulation from a regular pranayama practice. In 2022 Jessica completed the Ghosh Yoga foundational teacher training. She also supported the 2023 Ghosh Yoga foundational teacher training program, leading classes and study sessions online. Jessica enjoys preparing individual sequences for friends and family that support functional strength and mobility. She also leads group breathing practices and classes based on therapeutic exercises for her colleagues in the environmental non-profit sector. |

Cristina values the rigorous and inclusive approach of Ghosh Yoga and appreciates its emphasis on continual learning and improvement. In her teaching, she integrates her background in higher education, leadership, and movement to support students in their individual yoga journeys so they can grow on and off the mat. |

Ralf Johannes (Europe)
Hello, my name is Ralf and I have been practicing yoga since 2006. I began my journey with Bikram Yoga in Hamburg, Germany, and later explored Hot Yoga, Forrest Yoga, Yin Yoga, and Hatha Yoga. Through extensive travel, I had the opportunity to experience yoga studios around the world, including in San Francisco, where I focused on Core 26 & 40 according to Tony Sanchez. Many of these styles originate from the yoga lineage of Bishnu Ghosh. In my core class my primary focus is strengthening the core to help preventing back pain and postural imbalances. I emphasize powerful yet controlled movement, supporting the body through therapeutic exercises, asanas, pranayama, and meditation. My intention is to cultivate greater calm, health, and mental clarity both on and off the mat. In addition, I teach intermediate and advanced yoga classes, guiding students step by step to deepen and elevate their personal practice. Ghosh Yoga combines traditional yoga with modern anatomy and is rooted in humility, discipline, and knowledge—values that I integrate into every class I teach. |

Nicole Masterson (Europe)
I am an American living in the Netherlands for over 30 years. My yoga journey started 10 years ago, in a hot yoga studio, to recover from a shoulder injury. I have developed a home practice, supported by a 5-year mentorship with Scott. From this base I go out into the yoga world trying all sorts of yoga classes. My motivating curiosity is the history and science of yoga trying to understand how yoga has and will evolve. I enjoy sharing what I have learned by teaching colleagues and friends. |

Suzanne was certified in neuromuscular and Thai massage therapy in 1993. In 2003 Suzanne went to Los Angeles to be certified to teach yoga by Bikram Choudury. Feeling like my training was incomplete Suzanne studied with Tony Sanchez in the spring of 2014. In 2015 she opened a Ghosh Yoga studio in Cherry Hill, NJ and began inviting Ida Jo and Scott to do workshops. In 2020 in the midst of Covid the studio closed. In 2024 she completed the Ghosh Advanced Teacher Training. Currently she teaches Hot Yoga, 26 & 2 at Hot Flo Studio in NJ from the Ghosh perspective. In addition to being a practicing Catholic, she studies Huichol Shamanism with Brant Secunda. Studying and practicing Qi Gong and lymphatic yoga are her current interests. Our practice and teaching profoundly transformed after we attended Practice Week with Ida and Scott in early 2023. Upon this introduction to the Ghosh lineage as well as practical exposure to yoga history and philosophy, we were deeply inspired to continue our yoga practice and studies in this direction. Craig and Becca were proud to become Ghosh Ambassadors and lead a group of yogis at our studio in Lawrence, KS through the Ghosh 200 hour curriculum a year ago and we plan to lead our next cohort in early 2026. We were also most fortunate to travel to India this fall with an incredible group of Ghosh yogis. |
Jade Stott (Europe)
Jade is a yoga teacher based in Bristol, UK, teaching yoga for eight years and now focusing on Ghosh Yoga. She trained with Ida and Scott through their Hybrid European TT in Mannheim, Germany. Jade fell in love with Ghosh in her very first class with Ida and Scott in January 2020, discovering the art of subtraction and the quiet stillness the practice can offer, qualities she now loves to share in her teaching. She enjoys Ghosh Yoga’s clear intention and the playful use of voice, tone, and expression when teaching as tools to guide strength, smiles, and softness in the right places. Jade came to yoga in 2010, and in 2012 experienced the support of a daily Bikram/26&2 practice while healing injuries, both physical and mental. This experience shaped her desire to share yoga with others. She understands that knowing the purpose behind a posture or exercise matters when rebuilding strength, resilience, and overall wellbeing. Outside the yoga room, Jade enjoys spending time in nature, hiking, camping and exploring, with a particular love of animals. |

Anouka van Eerdewijk (Europe)
Anouka took her first yoga class in 2013. Practicing yoga has brought her a place to return home to, where she discovered her strength, calm, compassion, boundaries and potential. Anouka is teacher at and owner of Alma Hot Yoga, a yoga studio in Nijmegen (the Netherlands). She is interested in working with the body, breath and mind in ways that build strength and coherence. The Ghosh Yoga Foundational teacher training, Practice Week and mentorship boosted her practice, teaching and understanding in unforeseen ways. She developed a practice to support herself while recovering from long covid, and later started offering this to others recovering from comparable conditions. This so-called Sana yoga uses simple yet powerful asana and breathing practices to connect with and move the body, to support its self-healing capacity.
